Your Behind-the-Scenes Is Not Their Highlight Reel

I keep catching myself scrolling and thinking everyone else has their shit together and I don’t.

It’s such a fucking lie.

The highlight reel is curated to hell. Nobody posts the 3am spiral. Nobody posts the unwashed hair, the bank account sitting at an amount you’d rather not think about, or the pile of messages you’ve been ignoring for three days because answering them feels like too much. What you’re seeing is the version someone chose to show, after filtering, after timing, after deciding it was ready.

Your behind-the-scenes is not their highlight reel.

That’s it. That’s the whole thing. You are comparing your raw footage to someone else’s final cut, and then wondering why you feel like you’re falling behind. You’re not falling behind. You’re just human, doing the actual work of being alive, which is messy and unglamorous and largely undocumented.

So here’s your reminder, from me to you, because I need it too: log off, drink some water, and go be a person.
